Queensland's tourism destinations all offer something unique - here's just a taste of what you can experience:

Tourism QueenslandCairns - this city is the gateway to Tropical North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. You'll find rainforests, seaside towns, kilometres of beaches, the Daintree and Cape Tribulation rainforests, the untamed wildness of Cape York and the scenic tablelands.

Townsville - this tropical city is the gateway to Magnetic Island. Explore national parks, museums, old gold mining towns or find your adventure with white water rafting, sky diving, horseriding or swimming.

The Whitsundays - are known around the world as a superb sailing area with 74 tropical islands.

Bundaberg, Coral Coast and Country - is the heart of Queensland's sugar country and most southerly access point to the Great Barrier Reef. This region offers 14 national parks, coral islands and the states most important turtle rookery a Mon Repos.

Tourism QueenslandCapricorn - visit sapphire gemfields, explore the rainforests and head up to the Great Barrier Reef or Great Keppel Island. Soak up history at a mining town or learn about Aboriginal culture.

Gladstone - one of Australia's busiest harbours - take an industry tour or visit nature based attractions. From Gladstone access the Great Barrier Reef, Heron Island or the delightful town of Agnes Water.

Fraser Coast - witness the humpback whales' annual journey up the Queensland coast. The world's largest sand island at Fraser has breathtaking scenery with freshwater lakes, coloured cliffs and huge sand dunes.

Sunshine Coast - just 1 hours drive north of Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast has many beaches, pretty hinterland villages and the backdrop of the Glass House Mountains. Head for Noosa and the popular Emundi markets.

Tourism QueenslandGold Coast - a 70 kilometre stretch of coastline offers a huge array of beaches. Head to the hinterland or World Heritage listed rainforests. There's theme parks, wildness parks, wineries and a choice of 40 golf courses. Buzzing evening entertainment means the action is non-stop.

Brisbane - explore shopping and historic precincts in the city and nearby suburbs, dine on Queensland seafood, soak in culture at a museum or art gallery, stroll through South Bank. Head to spectacular Moreton Bay and islands or country hinterland.
